The auto-immune reaction of the organism to pancreatic beta cells in the islets of Langerhans and the resulting destruction of these beta cells, cause an immediate shortage of insulin.

Diabetes mellitus type 1 is a degenerative disease, usually treated with injections of insulin. The injection replaces the hormone missing, but the complications can be far-reaching. Hyperglycemia often provokes a series of complications, such as:

* Cardiac / circulatory
* Visual disturbances and kidney
* Poor spraying vascular
* Damage to nerve cells (neurology)
* Diabetic foot
* High susceptibility to infection
* Erectile Dysfunction

Diabetes type 2

In the past, type 2 diabetes was considered diabetes non-insulin-dependent or diabetes onset in adults. Although Type 2 diabetes occurs primarily in people over 40 years, today they are also the young to suffer from this disease, particularly those with family history of diabetes.

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is by far the most common form of diabetes, which suffers from 85% -90% of all diabetics. Experts estimate that almost two thirds of all people with diabetes 2 is not even aware of being affected. If symptoms are not controlled, the consequences (as for diabetes 1) can be lethal.
