Nutrition in Children
Nutrition in children – In the fight for child obesity prevention, our children should be taught about nutrition. Parents know that the day would come when their child will “leave the nest,” so it will be wise to teach all there is to know about nutrition.
This will give children a foundation and basic knowledge about what is good for their body and what will work for them to maintain their body. With all the television ads targeting children, makes it imperative to teach children about nutrition before they ask for junk food from the ad. The advertising industry preys on children love junk food. This is partly what makes them in business.
The kids watching Saturday morning cartoons are inundated with food ads. Most of the ads that are advertising sugary cereals and fruit and a new and improved candy and cookies. Oh yes, the media know when to infiltrate the mind of your child. They know all the kids will be watching their favorite Saturday morning cartoons. In order not to forget about what the media do to our children during the holidays.
Almost all food advertising directed towards children and the majority of them contain some form of sugar content. Is it sweets, biscuits, sugar-sweet cereal, or drink a sugar-sweet, is obscure your child’s mind with unhealthy food choices. The ads do not describe the sugar-loaded products are most certainly not the staples ad other healthy foods loaded with carbohydrates and oil. Let us mind our kids on eating fruits and vegetables to teach nutritional values in food.
If you train your children early enough and stay consistent and focus on health and nutrition, you will give them the basics for food choices in their later years. Do not be afraid to let your children know what the risks in consuming lots of sugar-loaded staples. Do not be afraid to let them know the health risks associated with some of their food choices. Remember, parents should be the first teachers of their children. Start early enough and your teaching will help your children when they depart from you.
